Our Baby Is 15!

It's hard to believe, but our baby is old enough to drive!

Derek said he just wanted a low key bowling party with a few friends. All organized by him - mostly through text messages. We joked all last week how birthdays have gotten a lot less complicated. No getting the list of kids and parent email addresses together for eVites, no scrambling to construct game stations or intricate cakes. Not even any presents. Next year he won't even need us to drive.

So Much For The Flu Shot

Derek's been out all week with the flu. He started feeling bad Sunday night and Tuesday afternoon a flu test at the doctor confirmed the problem. He and Adam got flu shots earlier this year, but I guess that didn't work out so well.

Adam spends a lot of time cuddling Lulu in the mornings before school

Furlough Days

In an all too familiar sign of the times, my company furloughed everyone for a week so they could make their first quarter numbers (and executive bonuses I'm sure). Oh well, except for the not getting paid part, I really enjoyed it. The house was nice and quiet and I was able to get a lot of things done that probably would not have gotten done otherwise.

I did a bunch of organizing of the photos for this blog. I cleaned and organized things inside the house. And then I whacked all the landscaping, cleared out the beds, and laid down eight yards of mulch. I was thinking this is what retirement would be like, but I might already be too old for this kind of stuff. I know I'm too soft. Real work is hard.
