Snow Psyche

After days of anticipation the snow event on our side of town was somewhat of a letdown

It looks like everyone was trying to avoid a "snowmageddon" like last year. School was canceled yesterday even though the roads were fine and today we're the only northern metro county not canceled. Now the 2 snow days built into the school calendar have been used along with one additional day, which means Helen and the rest of the teachers will probably have to return to work after Memorial Day.

Helen and I went on a long walk in the falling snow. Derek made it out to the driveway to check things out, but Adam didn't think it was enough to bother even making an effort to leave the house.

Derek was able to catch up on some schoolwork like this Titration lab and the "The Great Gatsby" (which he said wasn't terrible)

Across town our nieces had more snow and more fun

Stop Hitting Me!

For the 6th time since we've been married, someone rear ended us

Helen was driving this time so now we're tied, 3-3. We've been hit at least 9 times. Some of those didn't do any damage, but still. This time we were on the way home from Adam's hockey game Saturday afternoon and we were stopped several cars back from a red light when the guy behind us thought that the line of traffic was starting to move and accelerated into the back of our car. It was surprising how hard he hit us being that he had been stopped just a few feet behind us. The impact pushed us into the car ahead of us.

Middle School Hockey Tournament

On Saturday Helen missed Adam's hockey tournament because she had to take a group of kids from her school to the Science Olympiad at the University of North Georgia

Adam and I were in Snellville all day for the middle school league end of season tournament. In the first game Adam's team got down 2-0 early but came back to win 4-3.

Relaxing between games

In the second game Adam's team played the undisputed top team in the league, McDonough

Adam's team played a perfect game and shut them out 7-0

They actually invoked the mercy rule and stopped the game. We were in shock. They were shock. McDonough is the team that mercy's everyone else and now they had the tables turned.

McDonough won their way out of the loser's bracket and into the championship game against Adam's team

We had stirred the hornet's nest and this time McDonough made sure there was no repeat. They beat us 8-2.

It looked like losing a game made McDonough appreciate the championship even more

We've had some chippy games with McDonough this season, but the kids all showed great sportsmanship and respect for each other

Great season everyone
