Adam's Braces (Part 2)

Adam went back to the orthodontist yesterday to have the brackets installed and wired up. He chose chocolate waffles this time for his pre-braces dinner.

Derek has moved to using his Android tablet all the time and doesn't use his iPod Touch anymore, so he's letting Adam try the iPod out to see if he might want to buy it. Adam's not really a gadget guy so we'll see if he really uses it and wants to fool with managing it.

Helen stopped by the ortho office on the way home from school to see how her baby was doing

Adam's Braces

Adam chose Domino's Pizza for his last dinner before getting braces. Adam doesn't usually like anything with tomato sauce, but for some reason he likes Domino's and other similarly bad pizza.

I checked him out of school and then he rode his bike home before we headed to the orthodontist

He just got the brackets and some spacers. Tomorrow they'll wire it all up and he'll be sore again.

Adam's friend Evan has a bunch of chickens and the kids like to go over and get fresh eggs. Adam's mouth was sore and he said he just wanted to have some of Evan's eggs for dinner.

Derek's First Shave

The hairy caterpillar on Derek's lip finally reached the point where it needed to be removed

Dining Room Wallpaper

Helen's been itching to remove the dining room wallpaper for a long time. It never really bothered me since we rarely ever use the room for its intended purpose. But Helen uses the room as her office and is in there all the time.

Skating Again

With great trepidation Derek laced up his skates for the first time since he broke his ankle in October

He was relieved to find that he could still skate

He took it easy the first few times and wanted us to watch in case he fell. But he's been skating up and down the street alone this week and doing stops and turns. He's been going to physical therapy a couple times a week and it really seems to have helped his confidence. Now he's working on his endurance.
