After 20 days on the road and 4000 miles - we're back. These long road trips are a lot of work and not for everyone, but Helen and I really enjoy them. It was a little tougher this year with a pre-teen, but once again we had lots of fun and memorable experiences along the way.
You can put your finger almost anywhere on a map and find a place with a unique and interesting story to tell not to mention wonderful local food. At least that's the way Helen and I look at it. Derek, our pre-teen, is not so sure. It seems he has had his fill of old houses, quaint towns, museums, battlefields, and scenery - but he doesn't seem to mind stopping at every mini-golf and water park there is along the way. It can be a difficult balancing act.
