| Passing time while we wait...wait....and wait some more in traffic to enter the fairgrounds. We should have gotten there earlier in the afternoon to avoid the evening crowds. |

| Derek has been researching pet rodents and recently mentioned possibly getting a sugar glider. He was sad that he was in the 4-H petting area and missed seeing this guy walking around with his pet sugar glider |

We have been going to the county fair each Fall since Derek was a toddler and Adam was an infant. We used to always go out of our way to try and surprise the boys. They would ask where we were going and we would come up with something to throw them off and then the kids would just explode with excitement when they saw all the lights of the fair. For a kid , it doesn't get much better than that.
As the kids got older they got better about sniffing out our surprises, but we still like to joke that we're going to a "vegetable restaurant", which is what we told Derek one year.
