Alaska 2012: Day 1 of 22 (Atlanta to Vancouver)

Up before 5 am for our 8:20 flight to Vancouver

All photos for this day

All photo albums

Adam said it didn't feel like our normal trips because we didn't have to pack as much

A little after 6 - we thought that would be early enough

We parked at a hotel near the airport and took a shuttle

Had to take another shuttle to the new international terminal

More time to get to the concourse

Security checkpoint was a bigger pain than usual. There was a bigger crowd than we thought there would be so early on a Saturday morning. As usual, we were one of the last people on the flight. Why does everything take so long?

Approaching Vancouver

Derek taking pictures with his new tablet

Another line to clear customs

Taking the SkyTrain to our hotel

The boys were hungry

Scaring the pigeons and hoping they don't drop anything as they fly away

Hungarian dancers

Library

Our hotel room across from BC Place and Rogers Arena where the Canucks play hockey

We walked toward the waterfront

Derek was worried this was our ship and we were missing it

Bike ride around Stanley Park

We were beat from all the walking and biking and stopped by this Japanese place on the way back to our hotel

It started to rain

Gelato for dessert

Derek wasn't a fan of the Japanese rice bowl and had us get him a burger

Derek decided to try a Canadian favorite - pouton, which is fries with gravy and cheese. We all agreed it was really good.
