Peachtree Junior

Early morning drive downtown to Piedmont Park last Saturday for the Peachtree Jr Road Race. Derek didn't want to go but he was elated that at least he didn't have to run in the race because he aged out this year.

City parking can be very frustrating to us suburbanites who are used to ample, free, and easy parking. Searching for parking always makes my blood boil. The deck where we were planning on parking was full. The neighborhood streets were pretty packed with cars as well and there were confusing signs like the ones that read "Permit Parking Exempt". What does that mean? We ended up parking in an almost empty shopping center lot nearby. Bad move. It turns out there was a guy watching all the families park in the lot. When we returned we found that he had booted our cars. He pointed out that there were signs posted, but still pretty lowdown when it's for a quick kids race and it's early and the businesses are not being impacted.

Adam was worried he wouldn't be able to find his friend Evan in the crowd

The Big Peach

After dealing with getting the boot removed from our car we drove over to the Varsity to undo all the healthy benefits of the run

Adam and Evan didn't get enough of each other at the race. We weren't home long when Evan came over to play. He spent the day with us, went to Derek's hockey game, and then they extended it to a sleepover.

They wound down before bed by going through their new yearbooks and a bunch of the old yearbooks
