Derek's First Driving Lesson

Derek ordered a new wallet to hold his learner's permit

First lesson in a big empty parking lot

He was a little scared, which is a good thing

It didn't take long before he got his confidence up

For about an hour, we did a lot of parking and playing around with acceleration and braking. Towards the end, he got a little overconfident and went into a turn too quick, but instead of hitting the brake he froze up and hit the gas. Lesson learned.

He did great and I told him that he would be texting and driving in no time ;)  

Derek's been taking a 2 week driver's ed course after school. His final exam is today. It's mostly class work, but he did drive in the parking lot yesterday and he'll drive a couple more times in the following weeks.
