Disney Christmas: Days 1 & 2 of 8

It was hard to believe the Disney Cruise I booked almost a year ago had finally arrived

Album for these photos

All photo albums

The cruise wasn't actually leaving until Sunday but we decided to head out of town as soon as school got out on Friday

This ChickFila in Macon is turning into our favorite stopping place. It's the same place we stopped on the way to Florida at Thanksgiving.

We thought about going all the way to Orlando, but we were beat and decided to stop in Valdosta for the night

Relaxing Saturday morning

We finally made it!

We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

The kids are easy to find in the Disney hotels...they're always watching tv in the lobby

It was so nice traveling at Christmas and seeing everything dressed up

On the way to our room there were these places where you could get a glimpse of the animals roaming the property

Mickey towel art

The view from our room balcony was pretty limited but the hotel does a good job of placing food so that the animals roam around quite a bit

Adam was really into trying to see all the animals and check them off the checklist

We loved all the activity going on at the lodge. These guys were trying to get people to join in on the drumming so we jumped in and helped them out.

It turns out the lodge gives out beads for participating in the different activities around the lodge

The kids started looking for other activities so they could get some more beads

This geriatric barbership quartet was hilarious and very frisky

Adam earned another bead

There was a really large bell ringing group performing in the lobby. The music was beautiful.

We love the Boma buffet restaurant at the hotel with all the wonderful African food and have eaten there before when we were on the meal plan, but this time we weren't on the meal plan and we didn't think we could eat our money's worth so we opted for the quick service cafe.

Conga line through the lobby

We took the Disney bus to the Magic Kingdom to ride the monorail

The Polynesian Resort. All the resorts are so beautiful. I don't even have to go to a park. I can just go the resorts and be happy.

Adam found the tv

Grand Floridian Resort

We couldn't believe the gingerbread house was made out of actual baked gingerbread. We saw a number of impressive gingerbread structures on our trip.

Relaxing while the kids play ping pong

We had some ice cream and watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks over the lake

We took the boat back to Magic Kingdom
