Alaska 2012: Day 17 of 22 (Nikiski)

Adam is moody in the mornings. He doesn't want to go to sleep at night and he doesn't want to wake up in the morning. He told us he's moody because Mommy always likes to close the blinds, which makes him sleep too late, but he likes to wake up naturally to the light and the sounds. Me too.

Uncle Paul drove his work van and gave Derek a locksmith lesson

More Moose Is Loose

It was our second day at "Camp Kelley". The company my sister, Kelley, works for has a campground outside of Nikiski and we had the whole place to ourselves. Adam was beside himself. He wanted everybody to do everything.

I love it when the light is just right

There were some gulls nesting on this big inflatable and they got very upset when you went near

Jason kicking our butts in croquet

We drove to Captain Cook Park overlooking the Cook Inlet for a beautiful sunset

Down on the beach about 50 feet below the bluff where we were

These unexpected moments of beauty where there are no crowds and it doesn't feel touristy are what I like best

On the way back to Camp Kelley we saw a moose grazing by the side of the road
