Hawaii 2014 (Day 3 of 19): Oahu - Kailua, Makapuu Point

The fold out sofa bed was so small that we let the boys have the bed in the bedroom. They don't seem to like cuddling with each other as much as we do.

Breakfast at Cinnamon's

I enjoy a big long breakfast as much as the next person, but I don't like to waste the time when I'm on vacation. Plenty of time to rest and eat leisurely meals at home. However, everybody seemed tired and Derek and Adam were really pushing for it.

Melt in your mouth warm cinnamon rolls. We meant to get more to go, but forgot - dangit!

Loco Moco

Red Velvet Pancakes

There was a neat chocolate shop, Manoa Chocolates, upstairs from Cinnamon's

Kite surfers at Kailua Beach Park

Wow! We couldn't believe the water color. It was so beautiful through the trees that it didn't look real. As soon as we got out of the car we were drawn to it like a mirage.

Island Snow for shave ice

Even better with the snow cap on the top and the ice cream on the bottom

Shaka for Island Snow

Next door to Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks to discuss snorkeling

Back home to rest and reload

Time change and long days are taking a toll

Back to Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks to rent snorkeling equipment

Lots of rowing clubs in Hawaii. Early evening seemed to be the most popular time.

Lanikai Beach down the street from Kailua

Down the coast sandwiched between the mountains and the ocean

Makapuu Point Lighthouse Trail

What a great experience - beautiful weather, sunset, and hardly anyone else on the trail

Love locks

Hustling down in the dwindling light

Teddy's Bigger Burgers

Everything was really good - burgers, fries, soft drinks, and shakes. Even Adam's turkey burger (I don't know why he picks the things he picks) was tasty. Derek was in gut buster heaven.
