Time to wake up sleepy boy. Rest is for when we get home.

Hotel Del Sol

It was nice being able to ride any public transit with our SF CityPass

Pier 33 for Alcatraz Cruises. We had reservations for the "early bird" first cruise out.

Bay Bridge to Oakland

Transamerica Pyramid

Golden Gate Bridge shrouded in fog

Alcatraz Island

Our guide, Dick, for the Garden Tour

We didn't really have a plan and then they announced they were starting a garden tour. Adam said he wanted to go so we went.

We were really glad we went on the garden tour. We saw lots of pretty things and Dick told lots of interesting stories.

Graffiti from Indian occupation

Adam stayed right next to Dick so he wouldn't miss anything

Lots of birds on Alcatraz

Adam was fascinated by Alcatraz, especially the escape attempts, so we bought him a book about escaping. Derek wanted a souvenier "piece of the Rock".

Practicing for upcoming America's Cup in San Francisco

Waiting for a street car

Love all the different street car designs

We had reservations for the 12:30 AT&T Park Tour

AT&T Park

Willie Mays

Finding out that the tour was canceled

We were really bummed because we left Alcatraz earlier than we would have to make the tour. We later found out they emailed us in the morning to tell us the tour had been canceled, but we were already headed to Alcatraz. We were also irritated that the tour seemed to be operated independently so nobody would give us any information other than the tour operator's phone number. And she was on vacation and not answering her phone.

We regrouped and decided to head to the Ferry Building Marketplace for lunch

It was a nice market, but there was very little seating. We've been to many markets and have never seen anything like it.

We decided to eat at Gott's because they had plenty of seating

We went to the Exploratorium to get a reservation for the following day

Cable Cars

Blazing Saddles to "Bike the Bridge"

These guys really know what they're doing. Everything was very efficient and there's always a lot of enthusiastic workers sending bikers off and welcoming them back. We discovered afterwards that the enthusiasm is probably to drown out any complaints from biking up all the hills.

It was a really pretty ride along the waterfront

Exhibit A: Adam rides his bike to school every day and was obviously in better shape...

Exhibit B: ...than the rest of us

Derek's chain popped off

Crissy Field

Kitesurfers

Mark di Suvero sculptures

Fort Point

It was so sunny...until we got to the bridge

Fog rolling down the hillsides across the bay. San Francisco weather is crazy!

Heading into Sausalito

We looked around Sausalito a little. It seemed nice with lots of restaurants and shops, but we decided to catch the next ferry back to San Francisco.

Our sunset bike ride along the wharf back to the bike shop was really nice...and pretty flat

We decided to eat at Ghirardelli for dinner

Dinner

It was a nice night for a walk back to the hotel

Our clean laundry was waiting for us. We definitely utilized the hotel laundry service more than other trips.
