| Adam was fascinated by Alcatraz, especially the escape attempts, so we bought him a book about escaping. Derek wanted a souvenier "piece of the Rock". |

| Finding out that the tour was canceled We were really bummed because we left Alcatraz earlier than we would have to make the tour. We later found out they emailed us in the morning to tell us the tour had been canceled, but we were already headed to Alcatraz. We were also irritated that the tour seemed to be operated independently so nobody would give us any information other than the tour operator's phone number. And she was on vacation and not answering her phone. |

| It was a nice market, but there was very little seating. We've been to many markets and have never seen anything like it. |

| Blazing Saddles to "Bike the Bridge" These guys really know what they're doing. Everything was very efficient and there's always a lot of enthusiastic workers sending bikers off and welcoming them back. We discovered afterwards that the enthusiasm is probably to drown out any complaints from biking up all the hills. |

| Our clean laundry was waiting for us. We definitely utilized the hotel laundry service more than other trips. |
