Our cabin at the Evergreen Lodge

When we arrived the previous night, Adam said he was sure he was going to like this place.

We still think about the delicious breakfasts

The kids wanted to check out all the fun activities. Adam said he didn't want to go anywhere, he just wanted to spend the day doing all the activities at the lodge.

Eventually Adam was satisfied that he had done enough at the lodge so we headed for Yosemite. When I was planning the trip, all the lodging in Yosemite Valley was full. They say you can usually check back right before your trip and find cancellations, but I didn't want to fool with that. In the end it all worked out. We were very happy with the lodge.

Yosemite

Our destination was the Tioga Pass Road. The road doesn't usually open until after Memorial Day because of snow.

Tuolumne Meadows

Tioga Pass Entrance (or exit in our case)

We got out to look at the view and the wind was blowing so hard it was rocking the van

Whoa Nellie Deli

We loved the Whoa Nellie

Heading to Mono Lake

South Tufa Trail

The beauty of the place, the lighting, and the lack of people made this one of our favorite experiences on the trip

When we got closer to the tufa's, we found that the tufa's at sunset were a magnet for photography enthusiasts who just kept popping out from the formations

What a finish to a great day
